REPSE

The STPS registration required for individuals or companies providing specialized services or work, renewed every three years.

RegulatoryRegister of Providers of Specialized Services or Specialized Works

Registration with Mexico’s Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare for individuals or companies providing specialized services or work under Article 15 of the Federal Labor Law. It is renewed every three years within the Ministry’s specified window, making the registration date operationally important.

Why it matters for document operations

REPSE is a registration with a validity period that providers must demonstrate to clients. The law permits specialized subcontracting with registered contractors and establishes joint liability when contractors fail to meet worker obligations. A company with several specialized providers needs to track each provider’s registration as well as its own.

The common failure

Having a valid registration but being unable to demonstrate it when a client asks, because the registration notice is in someone’s email. The obligation was met, but the evidence was not where it was needed.
